On November 14, 2026 we look forward to presenting the program:

The Independent Institution

Join us for this short lecture and moderated discussion on the relationship between independence and institutions from the Black art perspective. Following the lecture, 33.G Founder Chase R. McCurdy and former Executive Director of CAAM (California African American Museum) George O. Davis will be joined in conversation moderated by Samantha Vitone.

Featured Speaker:

George O. Davis is an Executive Advisor for Arts, Cultural, and Entertainment organizations. He’s the founder of Digizeum, a strategic consultancy based in Henderson, Nevada that started in 2021. His clients have included the City of Las Vegas, El Segundo Museum of Art, and the African American Board Leadership Institute.

From 2015-2021, Davis served as Executive Director of the California African American Museum (CAAM) in Los Angeles. In addition to leading the museum, his direct responsibilities included strategic planning, budget management, and outreach development to Exposition Park officials and other partners. Under his stewardship CAAM enjoyed a notable renaissance, fulfilling its mission to examine African American art, history, and culture in new and exciting ways—including the presentation of more contemporary and emerging artists and public programs by some of today’s most noted thinkers, doers, and makers. As a result, attendance grew 300% during his tenure.
